The Grind is A Life Group for Married Couples. The grind will provide a place for couples to connect with each other. We understand how important it is for couples to be able to connect with people that are in the same stage of life as you. We will connect in discussion, activities, and outreach. It will give you a chance to sharpen your marriage. We will be bringing in guest that have years and years of marriage experience to teach us how not only to be married but to thrive in marriage. Our guests will be sharing both their success and failures in marriage to help give us the edge. There will also be opportunity to ask questions and for you to give your input. We always want to connect with God. Your relationship with God is the most important relationship you will have. If your vertical relationship is going strong odds are your horizontal relationships will be going strong as well. We always want to grow in our walk with God. We will achieve this through studying the Word of God, through prayer and through participating in a worship service. We want to live a life of purpose. We will learn how to live a significant life. We will also be reaching out to our community as a group. We always encourage you to bring your friends, to get involved and to live for a greater purpose. Why Stay Married? Why Stay Married?

Why Stay Married? Join us for our new series beginning July 11, 2010. Randy and Kim Holmes will be presenting a four week series on WHY couples should stay married. This series will provide tools to the remarried, wisdom on how to be successful in uncharted waters, and will bring to light the realities of divorce. Join us in The Grind, Sunday July 11, 2010 in room 244 at 9:15.

Prior to their marriage in 2004, Randy Holmes and Kim Holmes were each single parents. Randy had 2 boys and was previously married for 13 years. Kim had 2 children also, one girl and one boy and was previously married for 9 years. They each had baggage to carry as well as a past to forgive. God in His Grace had his hand on two broken vessels, and He had a plan.

Only a God of love, grace and forgiveness can take our mess and make it whole. And that is what He is in the process of doing. Randy and Kim have realized that they are on a journey which may appear hazardous at times, but like Moses in the wilderness, they can trust God to provide the way.

Early in 2004, they attended their first Smart Stepfamily class. It was a few months before they were married, and it was extremely challenging. They learned all about the junk of remarriage and integrating a family. As they overcame certain pivotal points in their first few years together, they realized that marriages in general need help. They were taught some key points that all marriages can use. The Lord continued to equip them to minister, at the same time they themselves were walking down their own rocky path, learning to trust and depend of God each and every day.

Randy and Kim Holmes both feel a very strong call from the Lord to teach other married people WHY they should stay married, provide tools to the remarried to be successful in uncharted waters, and bring to light the realities of divorce.

God has allowed us the honor and privilege to be married to one another, and for that we are forever grateful to Him. Our past decisions, however, have come with serious consequences within our families. We recognize this and pray for wisdom to share so that others can be as equipped as possible for their own personal journeys. –Randy and Kim Holmes
